Charbonnel Lamour Black Covering Varnish (protecting varnish) is a liquid etching stop-out designed to protect the back and edges of your plate from the bite of the acid during etching. It dries opaque, glossy, and hard. This protecting varnish is extremely resistant to acid and is recommended for aquatint techniques. When applying the protecting varnish, your plate must be completely degreased and cold. It is best applied with a supple brush.
