Gel Printing Plates are durable and reusable plates for creating monoprints. They are made from a unique plastic containing mineral oil.
The sensitive gel surface is perfect for capturing fine details and textures. Interesting textures can be created using materials such as bubble wrap, stencils, leaves, and string. Soft-tipped tools like brushes and rubber-tipped tools are ideal for mark-making. Avoid using hard-pointed tools as these may damage the plate.
Acrylic paints are recommended for use with the plates, as well as watersoluble printmaking inks, watersoluble fabric paints, and marker pens. It is not necessary to clean the plate in between prints unless desired. The plates can be easily cleaned using soap and water.
