Handover 23ct Gold Leaf Transfer is an extra-thick 14g transfer gold leaf for gilding, supplied in books of 25 leaves. Each leaf measures 80mm x 80mm, and one book will cover approximately 0.16m² without waste or overlap, although actual coverage will vary depending on the gilder’s experience and the complexity of the surface.

Transfer leaf is made in the same way as loose leaf, but each leaf is pressed onto a lightly waxed tissue paper sheet so it can be handled without direct contact with the metal. The tissue is placed over the sized surface and rubbed from the back to transfer the leaf onto the object being gilded. With its 23ct gold content, it offers greater resistance to tarnishing than a lower carat leaf.
