Handover Genuine Silver Leaf Transfer is a genuine silver leaf for gilding, supplied in books of 25 leaves. Each leaf measures 95mm x 95mm, and one book will cover approximately 0.23m² without waste or overlap, although actual coverage will vary depending on the gilder’s experience and the complexity of the surface.

Transfer leaf is made in the same way as loose leaf, but each leaf is pressed onto a lightly waxed tissue paper sheet so it can be handled without direct contact with the metal. The tissue is placed over the sized surface and rubbed from the back to transfer the leaf onto the object being gilded. Silver leaf should always be protected from the atmosphere with a lacquer after application.
