This is a pair of Jackson’s Professional Wooden Stretcher Bars with a profile dimension of 43 x 58mm. These stretcher bars are solid, easy to assemble, and are PEFC-certified, ensuring they come from responsibly managed forests where biodiversity is preserved and felled trees are replanted.
The unique square ends can cause some confusion, but simply slot them together as shown in the diagram for a perfect snug fit. These stretcher bars are ideal for creating custom canvases, especially if you're after a size or surface type not available ready-made.
Stretcher bars measuring 80cm or over include a crossbar slot and will require a centre bar for stability. We recommend using a second centre bar to form a crossbar for sizes over 100cm. The centre bars are designed to pass over each other without the need for half bars. This design enables the use of both horizontal and vertical centre bars, providing extra support for larger canvases. The centre bars are sold individually.
