Stretcher bars measuring 76cm (30in) or longer include a single crossbar slot. For optimal stability, a single centre bar should run across the width (the shorter side) of the frame. There’s no need for measurements or calculations when ordering – centre bars are clearly labelled to match the corresponding stretcher bar size, even though they are slightly shorter to fit neatly inside the frame.
