Lawrence Feathers for etching are traditionally used with acids such as nitric, where bubbles are created in the etching process. Feathers will not be damaged in the acid, and the very soft tips will not disturb delicate grounds such as soft ground, when wiping off the bubbles form the surface of the plate.
