Lukas Alkyd Medium Painting Butter is formulated with special drying agents and thickeners to allow an artist to paint in a heavy impasto style without wasting valuable pigment. It is ideal for use when painting with palette knives.

This Painting Butter is a quick drying, elastic, alkyd resin-based medium. The butter impasto medium helps keep the thick constitution of heavy paint application without leveling to ensure that your paint structure remains. The layers dry without shrinking, cracking or wrinkling.

Lukas Alkyd Medium Painting Butter is a transparent, slightly amber-tinted mixture of alkyds, thickeners, and driers and is the same consistency as straight oil paint. Be aware that mixing the medium with paint will thin the paint's colour slightly.

Drying time depends on thickness. Touch dry in 1 to 6 days.
