Schmincke Supergranulating Watercolour Paints are an extension of their highly popular professional Horadam range. The distinctive feature of these colours is that the paints are based on pigments that have a natural tendency to granulate. By combining two or more pigments in one paint, they complement and enhance the colour in combinations and create an incredible texture on the surface of the paper.
The paints are bound with Kordofan gum arabic from the southern Sahara. Due to the natural source of the binder, the gum arabic does tend to differ slightly year on year. Schmincke continually test the ingredients and the best of the batch is selected to ensure the highest quality is achieved. This means paint which has dried onto your palette can be easily re-wetted and painted with again.
